An import from Maine, Bon Idee (in French: good idea) is our senior herdsire. Check our his pedigree made up entirely of Excellet scoring appraisal scores! I love the length, smoothness, and phenomenal udder that his sire, Samurai, has thrown in daughter at the Chateau Briant’s herd— GCH Baylee (05-02 91 EEVE) was 1st/1st yearling Miller at the 2011 National Show, while GCH Jovial (05-03 92 EEEE) was 4th yearling Miller at the 2011 National Show, and both does finished their championships as two year-olds, with seven champion offspring total. Bon Idee’s dam, Braxton, was the 9th place dry yearling at the 2011 National Show and 11 place 4 year-old in 2014 (photo below). Her udder is beautifully attached and especially smooth in the fore udder.
Bon Idee has exceeded my original expectations. I am seeing a lot of width and brisket extension in his daughters. He has been complimented by judges for his dairy character, and admired for his tremendously long frame. He became a permanent champion at age 2 in 2012. His daughter Marvell’s is producing in the milk pail (16# per day peak as a 2, 3, and 4 year old), finishing her championship in 2017, and obtained an appraisal score of 90 (03-04 EEVV) in 2017. Madeira also has tremendous milk production. He continually produces does that are improvements over their dams, and showing increased milk production. Bon Idee died in 2019.
BON IDD HAS BEEN COLLECTED. SEMEN AVAILABLE.
